Description: Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865)
Window shows a full length portrait of Abraham Lincoln, with two angels at each of his sides. One representing justice and the other representing mercy. Kneeling in front of Lincoln is a slave boy with his wrist shackles broken to indicate freedom, while Lincoln holds the Emancipation Proclamation in his right hand with the American stars and stripes in the background. It is said that represents and memorializes secular history rather than religious history.
George Washington (1732-1799)
Dedicated the before the 200th anniversary of Washington's birth this window shows a full length portrait of Washington with two angels at his side representing victory and peace. He is depicted in presidential rather than military uniform and holding a volume under his left arm and a quill under his right hand. This window also includes the American stars and stripes in the background. It is said that represents and memorializes secular history rather than religious history.
