An Inspirational Message of Love & Appreciation from General Chairlady Mary Thrasher

"We should so live and labor in our time
that what came to us as seed,
will go to the next generation as blossom,
will go to them as fruit. This is what is meant by progress"

It is with profound humility and distinct pleasure that once again I extend warm greetings and felicitations to each of you. As part of our ongoing Women's Day Celebration, we have truly set about planting seeds of faith and spirituality; cultivating blossoms, showcasing dynamic women as role models and mentors; and harvesting the fruits, reiterating the fact that one's goals in life can be obtained.
Traditionally, since the days of slavery, the majority of black women have been subjected to jobs neither requiring maximum use of their intellects nor offering satisfactory rewards for their achievements. Few women, black or white, are really able to hurdle the barriers to become independent business and professional women. Today, we present to you, a group of women who overcame many obstacles, and the challenge of service in their particular fields of endeavor and came out as "WINNERS" in every sense of the word. To these women, our distinguished "GOLDEN HERITAGE AWARDEES". we offer our sincere "CONGRATULATIONS". You have served your fellowman well and have gained the respect and recognition you so richly deserve. It is our fervent prayer that you will continue to light the way fro generations yet unborn.
To THE WOMEN'S DAY COMMITTEE, as well as the Women of our Church. the words "THANK YOU" do not begin to capture all that you have consistently done to make our Women's Day Observance the success that it always is. We the Women of Little Rock indeed have a PROUD past. We will have, also, a PROUD future.
