As part of a reorganization effort by the Pastor and the Music Department, in June of 1991 the birth of the Young Adult Choir began.
A president was appointed and the first officers served until December 1992. Those presently holding offices are: Pamela Butler, President; Johnnie Butler, Vice-President; Gwendolyn Vining, 2nd Vice-President; Renee Fountain, Secretary; Larry Walker, Treasurer; Sheri Nixon, Asst. Treasurer; Satonyia Griffin, Sherri Hill and Alex Parks, Chaplins; Saretta Carter and Josaph Goss, Sergeant of Arms.
The choir has gown to an active roll of 39 members. With the growth of the choir a new attitude took place, changes began to transpire and a new Musician, Celeste Tolliver and Director, Harold Jones came on board the 1st Sunday in December. Anew name was chosen, and in April we dropped the old and became the new “Victory and Praise Choir.”
God has truly enriched our lives in the two years that we have served. We give Him all honor and praise. We will continue to put God first and lift up His Holy Name.
WHO WOULDN’T SERVE A GOD LIKE THIS?
VICTORY & PRAISE CHOIR
*Denotes Leave of Absence
I will sing mercy and judgment: unto thee,
O Lord, will I sing.
I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way.
O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes:
I hate the work of them that turn aside; it
shall not cleave to me.
A froward heart shall depart from me:
I will not know a wicked person.
Whoso privily slandereth his neighbor,
him will I cut off: him that hath an high look
and a proud heart will not I suffer
Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the
land, that they may dwell with me: he that
walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
He that worketh deceit shall not dwell
within my house: he that telleth lies
shall not tarry in my sight.
I Will early destroy all the wicked of the
land; that I may cut off all wicked doers
from the city of the Lord.
