From the desk of Our Pastor

My soul rejoices in the Lord tonight as we render our second Annual "Tribute to Mothers" Concert. It is at this time of the year that we reflect on the past contributors of our Mothers and give thanks to the present mystique of motherhood.

We as a Church Family are called upon TO SERVE THIS PRESENT AGE through preaching, witnessing and in singing praises to our Lord Jesus Christ.

We can gaze within the life of our Church and tonight sing with joy...

"Through Many Dangers, toils and snares,
We have already come;
Twas Grace that brought us safe thus far,
And Grace will lead us home.

We thank God for our inexhaustible supply of patience and constant and sustaining love.

My heart also leaps for joy tonight, when I think of how you, our many friends, have come from all over the City of Detroit to share and help us on this Christian Journey. May the Lord Bless you and make this Mother's Day Season all that you and yours would want it to be.

REVERED CHARLES J. HOLLEY, Pastor

...I would like to take this opportunity to thank Pastor Holley, the committee, everyone in the music department, and members and friends of Little Rock Baptist Church for their loyal efforts and splendid cooperation in making this presentation possible. Also, I would like our special guest to know that on all of our behalf we are deeply grateful to you for adding a much needed "seasoning" to our program. And at anytime you desire our services in anyway we will not fail to respond/

May God bestow his choices blessings upon you all.

In Loving Memory of Our Mother
Mrs. Dorothy L. Arnold
"The Watcher"

She always learned to watch for us,
Anxious if we were late,
In winter by the window,
In summer by the gate;
An though we mocked her tenderly,
Who had such foolish car,
The long way home would seem more sage
Because she waited there.
Her thoughts were all so full of us,
She never could forget!
And so I think that where she is
She must be watching yet,
Waiting till we come home to her.
Anxious if we are late ---
Watching from Heaven's window,
Leaning from Heaven's gate/

In loving memory of our dear mother and grandmother, who passed this life on July 21, 1976. A devout Christian and religious leader, we hold in great memory our mother and grandmother, the quality of whose love and devotion was such, that her death invests our own lives with new sanctity, a new dignity, and a new hope. Last but not least, those of you who have a mother, love her while you may, for we wish with all our hears,t hat our mother was here today. Though tears in our hears do not glisten, and our faces are not always sad, there is never a night or morning, but we think of the mother we had.

Sadly missed by daughters, Ann Flow, Winnie Pullom, Johnnie M. Mills, Granddaughters, Francine Montgomery, Patricia E. Williams, Charlie M. Outsey, Grandson, Lonnie Berry, Great-granddaughters, Kim Williams, Daphne Williams, Lisa Buras, Tracee Patrice Motgomery.
